DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona International Speedway has no more of its 159,000 grandstand seats available for the Daytona 500 on Sunday, according to a track news release.
About 5,600 tickets had been discounted from $99 to $55, and the track decreased the capacity from 168,000 to 159,000 when it replaced bleacher sections in the grandstands with chairback seats with arm rests.
“NASCAR fans remain the most loyal and passionate in sports and we’re proud to host a full house for this year’s Daytona 500,” Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig said. “These are tough and challenging times but the fans have responded overwhelmingly. We appreciate their support and look forward to hosting another history-making event.”
Infield tickets, at $100 apiece, are still available. Parking in the infield is $50.

Feb 15, 2009 at 2:11 AMIf you want fans to attend, it was smart to lower prices. There have been more than 600,000 jobs eliminated. Attending races is so not on the list as priority.

Feb 16, 2009 at 2:25 PMThe first 60 laps where boring, then things picked up. With Goodyears doing what it is know for. And then what about 6.45 it rained, The drivers where wanting to get back to racing. But I suppose Brain France had a golf game early Mon or he didnt; want to pay track workers any more than he had too. So he said the rain is over us and would be 11 pm before could go racing. The fans have already seen a good show so it is a race. ' Matt good deal" But if I had driven from WV. to Flr. I would be mad by calling race, but we are use to NASCAR doing what it wants. One more Yellow for trash on track no one can find , was yellow to make it a race. Tony keep on Goodyear Jim WV
