AT&T has donated $20,000 to the Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, N.C., in recognition of the fan-chosen "fastest pit crew" in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

The season-long contest asked fans to vote via text message each week to determine the fastest crew. The No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports crew of Jeff Gordon was the overall winner, and the prize was donated in its honor.

“We are pleased to donate this money as part of our fastest pit crew program to Victory Junction,” said Daryl Evans, vice president of marketing for AT&T. “It was exciting to see who the fans thought was the fastest and most valuable pit crew, but it’s even more exciting to know we will be helping some great kids attend this special camp.”

Victory Junction, founded by the Petty family, offers year-round camping opportunities free for chronically ill children.
