ABC’s broadcast of Sunday’s Dickeis 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway earned a 3.1 overnight rating from Nielsen Media Research, Street and Smith’s SportsBusiness Daily reports.
The figure is 8.8 percent lower than the 3.4 ABC earned overnight for the 2008 Texas race, which was run on the first Sunday of November last year.

However, I think some of the problem with the racing and therefore the ratings is that unless the leader spins their tires on a re-start, like Kyle did once last Sunday, it's almost impossible to pass the lead car under green flag conditions. I like how Nascar kept the race green and let the chips fall where they may, and it didn't turn into a crappy 30 lap crash fest which is the new normal way Nascar races end.
