7 reasons to watch the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway: No. 6 - True greatness

To see true greatness.

Whether Hendrick Motorsports' Jimmie Johnson or teammate Mark Martin wins the title, you will witness a driver who is taking a unique place in history. And one who deserves to take that place.

Johnson could net his fourth consecutive title, a feat never previously accomplished in the Cup series. Martin could win his first title at the age of 50 after finishing as runner-up four times.

No matter which way it goes, NASCAR will have a classy champion who treats fans, sponsors and competitors with respect and the title with gratitude.

No matter which way it goes, the driver will take a unique place in history - and in the minds of fans.

And that makes Sunday's Ford 400 worth watching.

No, it makes the 400 worth avoiding. Hendrick deserves to fail and his minions deserve to go down with it.
