7 reasons to watch the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway: No. 5 - Momentum

When the checkered flag waves on Saturday night's Coke Zero 400 at Daytona, the NASCAR Sprint Cup season will be officially halfway over. That means time is running out for drivers and teams hoping to make a late run into the Chase For The Sprint Cup or at least salvage a decent season.
Of course, what better way is there to build confidence and momentum for the second half of the season than by finishing the first half with a win or at least a strong finish?
Of the nine races left before the Chase begins, only the Allstate 400 at Indianapolis and the Bristol night race in August can compete with Saturday's event in terms of popularity, excitement and prestige.
A good run - or a bad one - at The World Center of Racing, as Daytona is commonly known, can therefore be a momentum builder or momentum killer heading into week No. 19 of 36.
