Another first-time winner, perhaps? The 600 might be the longest, most grueling race on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit, but it’s been kind at times to drivers seeking that first career victory.
Among today’s active drivers who scored No. 1 at the annual event – Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte, Matt Kenseth and Casey Mears.
Is there another first-time winner waiting in the wings? David Ragan perhaps? AJ Allmendinger? David Reutimann or Reed Sorenson?
The top 40 in Cup owners points includes a dozen or so drivers who have yet to break the ice. Could this be the weekend?
