The preliminary entry list for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Dickies 500 includes 48 cars.
Burney Lamar will make his second attempt to make a race in the No. 08 EM Motorsports Dodge. Mark Martin remains in the No. 01 Dale Earnhardt Inc. Chevrolet this weekend and Bill Elliott is in the No. 21 Wood Brothers/JTG Racing Ford, meaning he has access to a past champions provisional and is guaranteed a spot in the race.
That leaves 12 drivers trying to make the field based on qualifying speed. Those needing to race in include David Reutimann (No. 00 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota), Ward Burton (No. 4 Morgan-McClure Motorsports Chevrolet), Lamar, Scott Riggs (No. 10 Valvoline Evernham Racing Dodge), Kevin Lepage (No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Dodge), Mike Skinner (No. 36 Bill Davis Racing Toyota), Dale Jarrett (No. 44 MWR Toyota), John Andretti (No. 49 BAM Racing Dodge), Michael Waltrip (No. 55 MWR Toyota), Joe Nemechek (No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet), Brian Vickers (No. 83 Team Red Bull Toyota) and AJ Allmendinger (No. 84 TRB Toyota).
