Wyler Racing's Terry Cook says that having the Craftsman Truck Series race on the NASCAR all-star race weekend program will show fans how similar the two series are.
The truck drivers take to the track Friday, sandwiched between tonight's Pit Crew Challenge and Saturday night's NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race.
Cook says he's not sure if that's the perfect time for the truck series to hit Lowe's Motor Speedway for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200, but he says that fans might have the chance to learn some interesting things about the two series in watching this weekend's events.
"I don’t know if it’s a good thing or not, but I think we see the kind of racing you see in the all-star race every week in the truck series," he said. "Some of it has to do with racing at night. Night races always seem to be a little more exciting. And I think a big part of it is that we’re racing in front of all of the teams. Most weeks the guys at the fab shop and the gear and transmission shop don’t get to come to the track, but this week they do. There’s a lot of pressure to perform because you have all these extra people here. That creates a lot of excitement.”
