Two-race Nationwide sponsorship between SK Motorsports and St. Clair Foods withdrawn
A two-race sponsorship deal intended for SK Motorsports’ NASCAR Nationwide Series entry with driver David Green and St. Clair Foods was withdrawn today.
“I regret that the two parties could not reach an agreement,” said David Goodman of Mountain Empire Sports Marketing Group, who was involved in brokering the agreement. “A failure to finalize exclusivity rights for St. Clair Foods by my company was central to the failed agreement.”
St. Clair withdrew from the agreement because of the inability to reach an exclusive sponsorship agreement with SK Motorsports for this weekend's Scotts Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway and a series race scheduled for later this year in Memphis.
“Our understanding was that the deal had been finalized, and I was surprised that issues remained so close to the race at Bristol,” said St. Clair Foods Vice President of Operations Brian Edmonds. “Our intent was to go racing. However, with a significant detail involving the sponsorship unresolved, we had no choice but to withdraw from the opportunity.”
St. Clair Foods is a manufacturer of deli salad and frozen side dishes, with St. Clair Potato Salad and Cole Slaw products available at Sam’s Club stores throughout the country.
