Trevor Bayne wins pole for Nationwide race at ORP
INDIANAPOLIS – Trevor Bayne turned a lap of 110.117 mph to win the pole for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Kroger 200 on Saturday at O’Reilly Raceway Park.
The Diamond-Waltrip Racing driver will be joined on the front row by Rusty Wallace Racing’s Steve Wallace (109.497).
Rounding out the top five were Roush Fenway Racing rookie Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Roush Fenway’s Paul Menard and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch.
JR Motorsports’ Aric Almirola will start sixth, with Roush Fenway’s Colin Braun, Penske Racing’s Brad Keselowski (the series points leader), Penske’s Justin Allgaier and JGR’s Matt DiBenedetto rounding out the top 10.
Roush Fenway’s Carl Edwards will start 13th.
All 43 cars entered made the field for the race, which is set for an 8 p.m. EDT start.
