RAB Racing with Brack Maggard announced a seven-race NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule for driver John Wes Townley for the remainder of 2008, with Townley’s debut coming in this weekend’s Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Townley will drive the No. 09 Ford, with sponsorship from Zaxby’s, at Bristol, Dover, Charlotte, Memphis, Texas, Phoenix and Homestead.
“I am really looking forward to my first Nationwide race,” Townley said. “I’ve never raced at Bristol, so my main goal is to go out and just qualify, first and foremost. Once in the race, I plan to be patient, race smart and capitalize on my short-track racing experience.”
Townley has competed in a handful of Craftsman Truck Series races for Roush Fenway Racing this year and is eighth in the ARCA Re/Max Series standings with RAB Racing.
