ORLANDO, Fla. – Braun Racing driver Jason Leffler said Saturday night that Scott Zipadelli will serve as his crew chief for the No. 38 Nationwide Series Toyota next season.
Zipadelli, the younger brother of Joe Gibbs Racing Sprint Cup crew chief Greg Zipadelli, will leave JTG Daugherty Racing and the No. 47 driven by Kelly Bires.
Zipadelli replaces Todd Lohse, who Leffler hoped would remain at Braun in some capacity.
“I think it’s going to be great,” Leffler said. “It’s a change everybody wanted, looking to work closer with [crew chief] Trent Owens and the 32 and build some better team communication there. Looking forward to it.
“We all think great things are going to come out of it. We’re looking for a little more consistency, and we think he can provide some of the tools to help all that.”
Leffler has finished in the top 10 in the series standings the last two seasons but dropped from third to ninth in 2008 after working with a series of crew chiefs.
