SK Motorsports has shifted from Patrick Carpentier to driver Donny Lia for this weekend's NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Lowe's Motor Speedway after sponsorship fell through and the team opted not to have Carpentier fly in from Canada.

"Patrick did a great job for our last race at Darlington, and we were looking forward to work with him again, but unforeseen changes in the sponsorship situation is keeping us from putting forward the package we were planning on running,” said team owner Peter Szekeres. “Without all the expected parts in place, we did not feel it would be in Patrick's or the team's best interests to have him fly down from Canada for this race."

Lia will drive in this weekend's race, and David Green, who has been driving for the team, will remain with the group in a management role.

"We have been very fortunate and grateful to have David Green start the season with us and bring us to where we are today," Szekeres said. "David has a future with the team and will be fulfilling several roles for SKM."

The owner added that the team will continue to seek sponsorship for Carpentier.

"We are still working hard on sponsorship and feel that meetings we have planned in the next few days could allow us to come through with the resources we need," Szekeres said. "Patrick, who is now our primary driver, should be in our car as soon as this happens."
