JOLIET, Ill. – David Reutimann captured his second career Nationwide Series pole as he turned a lap of 176.436 mph Friday afternoon in Dollar General 300 qualifying at Chicagoland Speedway.
Joining the Michael Waltrip Racing driver on the front row for the race later Friday night will be Joe Gibbs Racing’s Tony Stewart.
Rounding out the top five were Roush Fenway Racing’s David Ragan, Kevin Harvick Inc.’s Kevin Harvick and Hendrick Motorsports’ Landon Cassill.
Starting sixth through 10th will be Chip Ganassi Racing’s Dario Franchitti, Richard Childress Racing’s Jeff Burton, Braun Racing’s Brian Vickers, RCR’s Clint Bowyer (the series points leader) and JGR’s Kyle Busch.
Drivers who failed to make the race were Jeremy Clements Racing’s Jeremy Clements, R3 Motorsports’ Robert Richardson, Means Racing’s Kevin Lepage, K-Automotive’s Brian Keselowski, Faith Motorsports’ Morgan Shepherd, Fitz Motorsports’ Chad Blount and MSRP Motorsports’ Justin Hobgood.
Coverage of the 200-lap race is scheduled for 8 p.m. EDT.
