AVONDALE, Ariz. – Rusty Wallace Racing’s David Stremme led the opening NASCAR Nationwide Series practice Thursday at Phoenix International Raceway.
Stremme led the session with a lap of 130.577 mph. Chip Ganassi Racing’s Dario Franchitti was second fastest with a lap of 130.520 mph.
Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin, JR Motorsports’ Brad Keselowski and Richard Childress Racing’s Jeff Burton followed.
Team Rensi Motorsports’ Bobby Hamilton Jr., Roush Fenway Racing’s Jamie McMuray, RCR’s Kevin Harvick, RCR’s Clint Bowyer and Roush Fenway Racing’s David Ragan rounded out the top 10.
The drivers practice Thursday at 8:45 p.m. for the Bashas' Supermarkets 200, which is scheduled for Saturday at 9:45 p.m. EDT. Qualifying is Saturday at 5:05 p.m.
