Longtime NASCAR Nationwide Series team owner James Finch will make his 500th career start in Friday’s Dollar General 300 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Finch, whose Phoenix Racing organization is also celebrating its 20th NASCAR season in the series, has had former Sprint Cup drivers such as three-time Daytona 500 winner Sterling Marlin and two-time Nationwide champion Randy LaJoie race for him.
Mike Bliss, who is in his first season with Finch as the driver of the No. 12 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet, has three top-five and 11 top-10 finishes in 24 starts since joining the team at Texas earlier this year.
"It's an honor to be driving for James in his 500th start as a team owner, Bliss said. "James has contributed a lot to this sport, and it would be nice to celebrate this momentous occasion with a trip to victory lane."
