WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – The Zippo 200 Nationwide Series race was Shawn Parker’s last as crew chief for Baker Curb Racing. Parker announced Saturday he was leaving the team and driver Brad Coleman after the race.
“It has been great to work with Brad Coleman and the guys on the No. 27 crew this year,” Parker said in a news release. “I’ve been in this sport now for 17 years and I’d like to see what else is out there for me. I wish Brad Coleman and all of the members of Kleenex team nothing but the best as they move on with their careers.”
Parker joined the team, then known as Brewco Motorsports, in 2005. He served as director of competition of the team before taking over as crew chief. Brewco was sold to Gary Baker and Mike Curb last year, and the team moved from Central City, Ky., to Nashville, Tenn.
Coleman is slated to take over Hall of Fame Racing’s Sprint Cup Toyota next weekend but will remain with Baker Curb.
