Odd source behind selection of first name for Brad Coleman

Brad Coleman’s full name is the erudite-sounding Bradford Chenault Coleman, with the middle name borrowed from his family a few generations ago. But the Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR Nationwide Series driver says he gets his first name from an odd source.
“My mom said that she used to have a boyfriend by the name of Bradford,” Coleman said. “She always liked that name, so I’m named after one of her former boyfriends.”
Coleman’s parents contend that isn’t the case, but he isn’t buying it.
“They deny that it’s named after him,” Coleman said. “They said they liked the name.”
