MONTREAL – The bad blood between Boris Said and Marcos Ambrose doesn’t seem to have gone away, at least not on Said’s end. The two drivers had a dust-up earlier this year in the Nationwide Series race at Mexico City and haven’t patched things up.

So if the two Ford drivers are near each other in Saturday’s NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, watch out.

“He showed me a lack of respect that I’ve given him in the past,” Said said. “I’m not here to wreck him. That’s not my intention. You say things in the heat of the battle right after because it’s an emotional sport.  I wish I could have taken some of those things back, but I said them.

“I respect him as a race car driver.  He’s very fast.  He’s not on my Christmas card list anymore and he probably never will be.  If we’re around each other on the track, I’m going to race him, probably harder than I’ve raced anybody.  But I’m not here to be a dirty driver and do what he did to me.  It’s not my way.”

Ambrose apologized to Said after the Mexico incident and said it was up to Said if their relationship was to improve.

“We’re both driving Fords, so we see each other from time to time,” Ambrose said. “He’s not overly friendly to me, so it’s his choice to make the next move. I tried to clear the air after Mexico.  I don’t know owe him anything, I don’t owe him more an apology more than I’ve already done.

“If he wants to talk or not, that’s his choice.  I’ve got no bad feelings. I’m looking forward to racing him hard on Saturday and hopefully one of us will put a Ford in victory lane.”

Boris was spun out and has a right to be mad.

I like both, but if Ambrose apologized, I don't know what else Boris expects.
