Nationwide new car test at Talladega to draw at least six cars

By SceneDaily Staff
Tuesday, October 27, 2009

At least six cars are expected for the test of NASCAR’s new Nationwide Series car next Monday at Talladega Superspeedway.

Each manufacturer will be represented. Richard Childress Racing’s Jeff Burton and JR Motorsports’ Kelly Bires will drive Chevrolets, Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Colin Braun will be in Fords, Penske Racing’s Justin Allgaier will be in a Dodge and Michael Waltrip Racing’s Trevor Bayne will represent Toyota.

NASCAR will use the new car in four races next year, beginning with the July race at Daytona and then in August at Michigan, in September at Richmond and in October at Charlotte.

The one-day test Monday will last about six hours.

bthompson133...the drivers have admitted to it...Smoke chewed someone out for driving too hard in the early part of a race...and you know what...i'm with the drivers...the races are too long to run full bore...many have said you have to save the equipment and be around at the end of the race to win...

he was most likely talking wrecks and over-reving engines. nobody wants to get wrecked right off the start(or at all).drivers start in the back and race to the front every race. it's harder to pass when you get to the front with the ones who are hooked
