AVONDALE, Ariz. – NASCAR took a spring from the Nationwide Series car of Braun Racing’s Kyle Busch and another spring from the car of Kevin Harvick Inc.’s Kevin Harvick following the Hefty Odor Block 200 Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway.
NASCAR occasionally takes springs to check them at its research center in Concord, N.C.
Any penalties likely would be announced Tuesday.
NASCAR also confiscated three parts in opening-day inspection, all of which likely will result in penalties or fines. NASCAR took an intake manifold from the Penske Racing car of Justin Allgaier, a gasket from the Robby Gordon Motorsports car of Brian Ickler and the front A-frame from the Gillett Evernham Motorsports car of AJ Allmendinger.

Nov 9, 2008 at 7:03 PMI think it is ridiculous how they keep picking the same cars every week to penalize. It is the same ones in every series. It is getting kind of old and fishy.
