DOVER, Del. – NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton confirmed Friday what the other races with the new Nationwide Series car will be in 2010.
In addition to the previously announced July 2 race at Daytona International Speedway, the Nationwide car of tomorrow will be used at Michigan International Speedway on Aug. 14, Richmond International Raceway on Sept. 10 and Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Oct. 15.
Nationwide teams had told NASCAR they wanted a rollout of one race a month, and NASCAR consented. The car is scheduled to be used full time in 2011.
NASCAR plans on holding a test of the new car after the Sprint Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway in early November.
Pemberton said the test next year will likely be limited to bringing teams in a day early for the Daytona, Michigan, Richmond and Charlotte venues.

Sep 26, 2009 at 2:19 AMSo they're running 4 races next year in prep for a full 2011 run? Sounds rather stupid. They aren't using it on a road course or a slower short track. I'd rather see a few races in 2010, maybe 1/2 in 2011, and full-time in 2012.

Sep 26, 2009 at 2:24 AMCan't wait to see the new Dodge Challenger in Nationwide. Truly pays respect to the legendary 1970 Challenger.
Report as AbuseI own a 2009 Challenger SRT-8, this car snaps heads much more than any 2010 Mustang or Camaro.
I don't hate the Mustang or Camaro, but the Challenger is a fine American car. Dodge did their homework on this one, and got it right.

Sep 26, 2009 at 10:15 AMI know the 2010 Camaro and Mustang both turn heads already. Those two cars are sharp! Sorry, I'm not sure what a 2009 Challenger SRT-8 looks like. I'm sure it is sharp too! We all know the COT's are coming to NW, but I hate to see it, except for safety reasons.
