NASCAR held a town-hall meeting with owners in the Nationwide Series on Tuesday at its research and development center in Concord, N.C. but did not announce official plans for the rollout of the series’ new car.

NASCAR had previously told teams it wanted to use the car on restrictor-plate tracks and road courses in 2010, but several owners pushed to scale back those plans.

Specifically, some owners asked NASCAR to push the debut of the Nationwide car of tomorrow back to the July race at Daytona International Speedway, instead of in February.

"We had a very productive meeting this morning with the team owners from the NASCAR Nationwide Series about the rollout schedule for that series’ new race car,” NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton said in a statement.

"In the days ahead, we will digest what was discussed today and make a final decision on the rollout for next season with full anticipation of integrating the new car for the entire 2011 schedule."
