Joey Logano
MADISON, Ill. – Joey Logano is on the fast track for superstardom in NASCAR, as at age 18 he’s already won in the Nationwide Series and could be headed to the Sprint Cup Series in 2009. But Chase Miller joked Friday that Logano broke his leg a few years ago.
What? Is Logano a hatchet man?
Well, no. It happened in a Legends race a few years ago, and Miller’s injury was a fluke.
“Joey and I were both racing at Coastal Plains Raceway in North Carolina,” Miller said. “We were out there running good, running up front. We all got piled up in a big wreck. I got T-boned right in the door by Joey and snapped my leg right in half. It was pretty bad. It was in the shape of an uppercase ‘L.’
“After that, we became pretty good friends. I found out we lived right down the street from each other and didn’t even know it. I rode back in their motorhome with a cast on.”
Miller still feels the effects of the wreck.
“His leg’s still all bent,” Logano said with a smile.
