SPARTA, Ky. – Driver Kevin Lepage said Saturday he hopes a deal between Front Row Motorsports and Specialty Racing could be worked out soon to allow him to continue to drive in the Nationwide Series.

Officials from both teams are negotiating a deal where Front Row would take over Specialty’s points and car number, with Lepage driving Chevrolets built by Front Row.

“[Front Row owner] Bob Jenkins and the people at Specialty are working, trying to get to a situation where it’s under one house and everybody knows what everybody’s doing,” Lepage said. “Hopefully, by the time we get to New Hampshire, it’s all done.”

Lepage drove No. 61 Fords in 13 of the first 14 Nationwide races for Specialty Racing. At Nashville last weekend, he drove a Front Row Chevrolet officially entered by Specialty Racing.

Lepage is again in a Front Row-built Chevrolet for Saturday’s Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway. Under the prospective deal, Specialty Racing co-owner Charles Shoffner would continue to be listed as Lepage’s car owner.

Long John Silver’s is the sponsor of the No. 61 at Kentucky, a deal Jenkins engineered.

“We want to get it all put behind us,” Lepage said. “It’s been a rough couple of weeks mentally and physically. It’ll all come out for the best.”

Lepage said Specialty Racing could regroup and run again later this year with another driver, if funding is found.

Front Row Motorsports also fields No. 24 Chevrolets for driver Eric McClure.
