Jason Leffler

LEBANON, Tenn.Kyle Busch made some scathing comments about Jason Leffler after the two wrecked at Dover International Speedway during the Nationwide Series race there.

What made it worse for Leffler is Busch was his Braun Racing teammate in that May 31 race. But Leffler shrugged off the idea of any possible controversy between the two, saying the two haven’t talked about the incident that damaged both Braun cars. Busch also drives for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Nationwide Series.

“It doesn’t matter,” Leffler said. “We go and race and race hard. Having him around is good because of his feedback and what he brings from Joe Gibbs [Racing]. It really helps.”

Leffler said he “heard exactly what he said,” but wasn’t too upset about it.

“People say things in the heat of the moment,” Leffler said. “He’s been known to run off [at] the mouth. But what people have got to understand is he didn’t see the replay. From where he was at, he probably thought I drove right into the side of him and wrecked him on purpose.

“It wasn’t like that at all. I lost the car. I’ve been sick all week about [it], because the guys on the 32, this is my team. I treat these guys all the same. I feel like this is my family, and to take two of our own cars out, I feel really bad.”

At least Leffler was man enough to admit he was "at fault". He took the blame, didn't cast it on anyone else.

Ok. Maybe Ky Busch hadn't seen the replay. Then he SHOULD NOT have run Leffler in the dirt. Busch seems to have this problem. Anytime another car gets into an "incident" with him on the track, it automatically becomes THEIR fault. Ok, so what is Busch's "excuse" for being totally rude with the reporter? "WELL DUHHH"? Jason is not the first driver to, first of all take responsiblility for his part of an incident on the track, and second, take the "high road" regarding the spew from another driver's mouth. Good for Jason, and for Brad K. These are fine examples of maturing drivers; one can only hope that their example will be noticed and followed by others coming up thru the ranks.

Kurt Busch was the wonder boy a while back and did some stupid, rude things and got people started realizing he was just a skinny, little bully. He needed to get taken down. The public realized he wasn't worth their time. Shrub is going about things in the same was and will burn himself out too...and when it happens, good riddance.

Kyle Busch needs to realize he is not God. The media has made him feel this way. I am waiting for the time when he gets what is coming to him. It won't be long but it long overdue. TNT has changed the tone on how they are reporting on him. Unlike DW and some others, they are not focusing the whole broadcast on him. It is really refreshing.
