CJM Racing officials announced Wednesday that Scott Lagasse Jr. will drive the team’s No. 11 Nationwide Series entry for the remaining seven races of 2008 and all the series’ events in 2009.

Lagasse replaced Jason Keller, who moved to Baker Curb Racing.

“We took a long look at available drivers and think Scott is the perfect fit for what we are trying to achieve,” CJM Racing co-owner Tony Mullet said. “He’s had some experience in the NASCAR ranks, and we feel that this opportunity will give him the stability he needs to grow as a driver. We are committed to Scotty and making this program successful.”

CJM will switch from Chevrolet to Toyota for 2009 and has a technical alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing to support the move.

Lagasse’s first race in the No. 11 Chevrolet will be at Dover this weekend.

“The key in moving up in my career is the people and my surroundings,” Lagasse said. “In the time I’ve spent with CJM Racing, I’ve realized that our goals and philosophy are the same, and we are in this for the long-term. They are committed to me and to making this program a success.”

Lagasse has raced in seven races in NASCAR’s second-tier series, with a best finish of 22nd at Milwaukee in 2005, and in 19 truck series races, with a best finish of 18th at Atlanta in 2006.

Lagasse started the 2008 season with JTG Racing’s Craftsman Truck Series team, but that team dissolved after eight races.
