LAS VEGAS – Bobby Labonte paced Nationwide Series practice Friday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Driving the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, Labonte turned a speed of 177.206 mph. He was followed by Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch (176.108) on the 1.5-mile oval.
RCR’s Jeff Burton, Penske Racing’s Sam Hornish Jr. and Michael Waltrip Racing’s David Reutimann rounded out the top five.
Sixth through 10th were RCR’s Clint Bowyer, Rusty Wallace Racing’s Steve Wallace and David Stremme, JGR’s Tony Stewart and Roush Fenway Racing’s David Ragan.
The only incident in practice came when Brad Coleman crashed in the Baker Curb Racing Ford. He was OK, and the team went to a backup.
Final practice for the Nationwide cars runs 4:45 p.m.-6:30 p.m. EST today. Qualifying is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. Saturday, with the
race later in the day at 4:30 p.m.
