DOVER, Del. – Joe Gibbs Racing's Kyle Busch is clearly still on top of his game, opening the NASCAR Nationwide Series weekend with the top practice speed at Dover International Speedway Friday morning.
Busch and his JGR team topped the speed chart with a lap of 153.263 mph in preparation for Sunday's Camping World RV Sales 200. Kevin Harvick Inc.'s Kevin Harvick followed with a lap of 152.529 mph. Braun Racing's Denny Hamlin, JGR's Joey Logano and Phoenix Racing's Mike Bliss rounded out the top five. Series points leader Clint Bowyer was 10th fastest in his Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet.
MSRP Motorsports' Justin Hobgood crashed during the session and will likely go to a backup car.
The Nationwide teams practice once more at 1:50 p.m. EDT, with qualifying and the race slated for Saturday.
- Mentioned Drivers:
- Joey Logano
