CONCORD, N.C.NASCAR Nationwide Series Director Joe Balash said there will be no penalties stemming from a reported shoving incident involving Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick in the Nationwide garage area during a break in practice Thursday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

“It’s done,” Balash said. “From everything that we can tell there was just some heated conversation.”

At one point, Edwards was put in a headlock by a friend of Harvick’s in order to try to break up the argument, according to several sources in the garage area.

Neither driver was willing to discuss the issue. Harvick said, “Ask him” when asked about the incident. Edwards said he did not wish to discuss the altercation in public but acknowledged he was unhappy with certain comments after the Talladega race last Sunday.

Harvick called Edwards a “pansy” after Edwards triggered a multicar accident at Talladega.

"We took care of that privately, I think that's the right way to do that," Edwards said. "Man-to-man, talk about stuff, make sure you understand how everybody feels."

Mentioned Drivers: Carl Edwards

Harvick is the "Pansy " Jay. Was it not just last year were he ran from a fight and his Wife got popped. Carl Kicks-A I wish more drives had a set like Carl. Harvick is like that little dog picking fights with the Big Dog and when it is time to rock and roll puts his tail between his legs and lets other handle the issue.
Good thing "Nationwide is on his side"

I do not care what any of you think about Harvick, he had every right to make the comments he made after the race,Edwards hung out in the back like a nobody all day, then decided at the end to come up to the front and try to steal a victory. That is what happens when you race with slower cars, then try to race with cars that have been up front all day. If you want to complain about the race, you should be complaining about the win that was taken from Regan Smith by nascar.

I've always liked Carl and even thought about being a true fan of his, and I would, except I can't stand Jack Roush. But what I thought was a decent guy with a high set of morals is just wishful thinking. He's as evil and corrupt as anyone out there. He's extremely talented but forgets to use his head sometimes, but he's got it figured out that if he smiles enough during the interviews that many will overlook his mistakes. Carl, you make to many mistakes, and I'm glad your Mom isn't out there racing against you or you'd probably wreck her to win too. Maybe Biffle forgives you, but truth is you over drive way to often, like your stupid bonzi move the week before. This is real racing, where people can get hurt, not a video game. Smarten up would ya, cause I really like the guy you "think" you are.

Harvick should have handled the mis-hap with some class. Is it that crazy to think a wreck could happen at Talladega-- stop crying dude? How many pansy's would attempt a bonzai move on the last lap in the Chase when they were second in points.
It's not like that wreck ruined a championship for him. I liked Harvick and the Cousin is my favorite driver, but I'm not a fan of the #29 anymore.

Atleast Carl handles things like an adult instead of a name calling little 5th grader like Harvick. Whenever a driver starts his little "bashing tantrums" and flames other drivers, I lose all respect for that driver. I thought KH actually grew up over the last few years, but I guess I was mistaken. The old Kevin is back! Anyway, the bump Carl gave the Biff was working in that spot all day. They must have been off by just a few inches and all hell broke loose. That's restrictor plate racing, like it or not! If you can't handle the action, stay home and put a different "pansy" in that 29 car!

Both guys should have thought things through before doing what they did. They had to know the comment and the fight in the garage was going to be reported on national television. They should have settled their issues away from the track.

I don't believe ANY of the drivers in the Cup Series are "pansy". Of the people in this world that made the most of their opportunity, they are the best! If the press would stop sticking cameras in their faces when they got out of their cars, we wouldn't hear all the "high-intensity trash talk" that we all love so much. They have been in those cars for several hours, oftentimes in extreme conditions. What do we expect? Robots? I sure hope not. We expect, and get, raw emotion driven by their competitiveness. I dare say that not one of us could always say the right thing, or give the "expected politcally correct" interview at the end of any race! I, for one, love to watch ALL of them, not liking all of them, but enjoying all the personalities involved and what they have to say. Good, bad, silly, or just plain boneheaded. I MISS DALE EARNHARDT MOST OF ALL!

That was a pretty stupid move Carl made, but that is modern day restrictor plate racing. You take the race away from the driver and give it to chance or bump drafting. Trash those restrictor plates and let's see some real racing. NASCAR put the plates on to stop the wrecks, but they just traded one kind of accident for another. Why can't NASCAR admit they made a mistake and move on? The restrictor plate sucks. No one likes it but NASCAR.
