Keselowski captures Nationwide pole at Milwaukee

WEST ALLIS, Wis.Brad Keselowski scored his first career Nationwide Series pole position by turning the fastest lap in Saturday’s qualifying for the Camping World RV Rental 250 at the Milwaukee Mile.
 
Keselowski, who won his first Nationwide race two weeks ago at Nashville Superspeedway, turned a lap of 121.298 mph in his No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet.
 
Keselowski was three-thousandths of a second quicker than Mike Bliss, who went 121.286 mph in
the No. 1 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet. Keselowski’s teammate, Landon Cassill, was third at 120.911.
 
Jason Keller (CJM Racing) was fourth, with David Reutimann making it from Sonoma, Calif., in time to qualify his No. 99 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota fifth.
 
Stephen Leicht, qualifying Clint Bowyer’s Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, was sixth, with Joey Logano (Joe Gibbs Racing) seventh, Kelly Bires (JTG Racing) eighth, Jason Leffler (Braun Racing) ninth and Colin Braun (Roush Fenway Racing) 10th.
 
Erik Darnell was 11th in Carl Edwards’ Roush Fenway Ford, with Auggie Vidovich 13th in David Ragan’s Roush Fenway Ford, and Robert Pressley 21st in Marcos Ambrose’s JTG Ford.
 
Bowyer and Ambrose arrived from the Sprint Cup race at Sonoma soon after Nationwide qualifying, while Ragan and Edwards arrived after the drivers meeting.

Failing to qualify for the event were Ruben Pardo (Fitz Motorsports), Kenny Hendrick (Stanton Barrett Motorsports), Andy Ponstein (Stott Classic Racing), Chad Chaffin (Means Racing) and Mike Harmon (Elite 2 Racing).
 
Coverage of the 250-lap race is slated to start at 8:30 p.m. EDT.
