Jason Leffler fighting sinus infection, plans to run full Nationwide race
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Braun Racing’s Jason Leffler was suffering from the effects of a sinus infection Friday at Memphis Motorsports Park, but Leffler said he doesn’t expect to need a relief driver in Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series Kroger On Track For The Cure 250.
“I feel terrible,” Leffler said. “I’ve just been sick all week. Getting in the car helps a little bit. I’ve got like a sinus infection. I got all checked out. Luckily, I don’t have the swine flu or anything. I just don’t feel very good at all.”
Leffler drove the No. 38 Toyota in both practices Friday and was second-fastest in the final session.
“I think I’ll be all right [for the race],” Leffler said. “I’ve been sick before, but I’ve really never felt this bad in the car before. It’s more of like a migraine headache. If my car runs this good tomorrow as it did today, it’ll help.”
