WEST ALLIS, Wis. – NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Jason Leffler said Friday he is “90 percent sure” he will return to Braun Racing next season.
Leffler is fourth in the Nationwide Series standings heading into Saturday’s NorthernTool.com 250 at the Milwaukee Mile. He has driven for Braun since 2006.
“Anything could change, but I think [sponsor] Great Clips and everybody are all back on board,” Leffler said. “I’m looking forward to it.”
Leffler got a new crew chief for 2009, Scott Zipadelli, and his performance has improved. He was 10th in points this time a year ago, while this year he has four top-five and 11 top-10 finishes. The latter figure is tied with Kyle Busch for the series’ lead.
“It’s been a great year for us,” Leffler said. “A lot of things happened over the wintertime that were positive. As the year goes on, our equipment’s getting better and better, and we’re getting better as a race team.”
