James Buescher to drive Nationwide car for Phoenix Racing at Phoenix, Texas
Phoenix Racing announced Thursday that James Buescher will drive the organization’s No. 1 car in the upcoming NASCAR Nationwide Series races at Texas Motor Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway.
In addition, Buescher will participate in the Nationwide new-car test session at Talladega Superspeedway on Monday, driving the new Chevrolet for Phoenix Racing owner James Finch.
“I want to thank James Finch and [crew chief] Marc Reno for the opportunity to drive the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming Chevrolet,” the 19-year-old Buescher said. “Mr. Finch has put together a top-notch program and it’s a pleasure to be able to compete in his equipment. This season, Phoenix Racing has shown that they can run up front and be in contention for the win each and every week. I’m definitely looking forward to making the most of the chance that I have been given to run these two races.”
In six previous Nationwide starts, Buescher has claimed one pole position and a career-best finish of seventh. He is a regular in the Camping World Truck Series.
Buescher has three top-10 finishes, one of them a top-five, in 21 Truck series starts this season for Circle Bar Racing. He’ll compete in Saturday’s Truck race at Talladega before participating in Monday’s Nationwide test.
“The car looks awesome and I’m excited to get behind the wheel and see what it feels like.,” Buescher said.
