JR Motorsports will not appeal the penalties NASCAR issued the team following a pit-road melee following the May 24 Nationwide Series race at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
On Wednesday, NASCAR officials announced that JR Motorsports' crew member Michael Sandlin was suspended for one race and fined $1,500, crew member Jordan Allen was fined $1,500, and chief Tony Eury Sr. was fined $1,000 for a postrace shoving match between their Brad Keselowski crew and that of Joe Gibbs Racing's Denny Hamlin. Each of the men were also placed on probation for varying lengths of time.
The crew members were penalized for ignoring a NASCAR official's directive and inappropriate contact with an official. Eury was penalized under a rule that makes a crew chief responsible for the actions of his crew.
A team spokesman said Thursday that the NASCAR Nationwide Series organization would not appeal the penalties.
