If not wrecked, cars for sale after Nationwide Series race tonight

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – You want to buy Kenny Wallace’s car from the NASCAR Nationwide Series Subway Jalapeno 250 after tonight’s race? Wallace says you can have the Jay Robinson Racing car for $5,000.
NASCAR is expected to announce that the Nationwide Series will use its version of the “car of tomorrow” for the restrictor-plate tracks and road courses in 2010. That means the race today at Daytona International Speedway will be the final one for the current cars on restrictor-plate tracks (there is no Nationwide race this fall at Talladega).
“NASCAR pretty much told everybody that we’re going to the new car for the superspeedways and the road courses, and [my owner] told me to tell everybody that if I get on TV that our car is for sale for $5,000,” Wallace said Friday morning at DIS. “He doesn’t know what he’s going to do with it. … [But the new car] is really a safer car.”
Not being able to use the current car again in the future, a driver could be willing to take more chances in the race tonight.
“It will probably be a wilder race,” Wallace said. “I drive accordingly with my team. I can’t wreck. If I wreck one of my cars, it’s a devastation for my team. I still don’t want to wreck because I want the best finish I can get, but we don’t have to save this car for next year, I’ll tell you that.”

Jul 3, 2009 at 12:28 PMWell, I can come up with about $5,300.00/00 from collecting cans at 32 cents per pound. I've picked up 866.5 lbs of aluminum cans on the highways and streets but just didn't know what to do with all the money. I also found 13 car batteries that got sold back for $5 a piece. Maybe I should just go ahead and buy this Kenny Wallace car after all, but only if he signed it!

Jul 3, 2009 at 4:48 PMThat $5,000.00 will be added to the $20.00 per KW and/or Nascar fan that wants to make history and get his ride across the Border for the Canadian race. Question - if he doesn't collect enough money - who gets what has been collected? Buy it and put it somewhere where the homeless can use it for sleeping, etc.
