RICHMOND, Va. – Team Rensi Motorsports’ Bobby Hamilton Jr. topped the speed chart during Tuesday afternoon’s NASCAR Nationwide Series test session at Richmond International Raceway.
Hamilton Jr. led the session with a lap of 124.235 mph. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin was second quickest at 124.172 mph, followed by Kevin Harvick Inc.’s Kevin Harvick at 124.144 mph. Braun Racing’s Kyle Busch and Baker Curb Racing’s Brad Coleman rounded out the top five fastest speeds.
The sixth through 10th quickest speeds belonged to Richard Childress Racing’s Clint Bowyer, JTG Racing’s Kelly Bires, Braun Racing’s Jason Leffler, Richard Childress Racing’s Stephen Leicht and Michael Waltrip Racing’s David Reutimann.
The two-day test will conclude Tuesday night with a final session from 6 to 9 p.m. EDT. The series will hold the first of two annual events at the track with the running of the Nationwide 250 on May 2.
