LEBANON, Tenn. – Josh Wise has gone from backup duty to full-time duty for this weekend’s Federated Auto Parts 300 Nationwide Series race at Nashville Superspeedway.
Wise was originally slated to fill in for Michael Waltrip Racing’s David Reutimann during practice in Nashville while Reutimann was driving his MWR Sprint Cup car in Pocono.
But Fitz Motorsports has tapped Wise to drive its No. 22 Dodge this weekend in the race. Wise, however, will still practice Reutimann’s No. 99 Toyota in Friday’s first practice at Nashville before Reutimann arrives for the second practice.
“Josh is a race car driver and he wants to race,” Reutimann said. “I totally respect that. … I respect that Josh has a great opportunity and he’s a racer and I want him to be able to race. At the same time it puts us behind a little bit because we were really counting on Josh being able to drive the car.”
Fitz Motorsports will have Ruben Pardo in the team's No. 36 Dodge this weekend.
Also, Shane Hall is listed as the driver of Jay Robinson Racing’s No. 4 Chevrolet, with Derrike Cope in the team’s No. 49 entry.
- Mentioned Drivers:
- David Reutimann
