Eric McClure, sponsor to return to Team Rensi Motorsports for 2010 Nationwide season
Team Rensi Motorsports officials announced Thursday that driver Eric McClure and sponsor Hefty will return to the NASCAR Nationwide Series organization for 2010.
McClure finished 17th in the Nationwide standings in 2009, his first with the team.
“I’m excited about returning to TRM, and it’s the first time I’ve been back with a team for a second year,” McClure said in a news release. “That’s a reflection on this organization and what they’ve done not only for me as a driver but the character of the team. … I have a great deal of respect for them because of how they’ve made everything work and the way they’ve treated me and our partners.
“We had an up-and-down year at the track, but I feel like I’ve come a long way as a driver, and I owe a lot of it to this team. I’ve been more competitive this year, and we’ve closed the year pretty strong. I’m really looking forward to continuing to build on things at TRM.”
Hefty, which has been with McClure for four seasons, will serve as primary sponsor for 34 of the 35 Nationwide races and will be an associate for the Montreal race.
Financial terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed.
