Brad Keselowski may not have anything signed for next season, but team co-owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. says that he'd like to have him back in his NASCAR Nationwide Series ride if that's what Keselowski would like.

Keselowski, who drives full time in the Nationwide Series for JR Motorsports, surprised the racing world by winning the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday in a Phoenix Racing entry.

During a national teleconference Tuesday, Earnhardt Jr. was asked about Keselowski's future.

"I'd like Brad to drive my Nationwide car again if he wants to," he said. "But as far as like what he does in his Cup stuff, that's with [Hendrick Motorsports team owner] Rick [Hendrick]. It's my understanding that that's particularly not any of my business up until they're ready to share that information. Whatever Rick wants to do with Brad, it's up to him on the Cup side  I'm in the business of trying to help guys win races in the Nationwide Series and trying to help them become better race-car drivers.

"I feel like we've really achieved that goal with Brad, and he's sort of done what we set out to do with our program. You know, it's really up to him if he wants to keep driving the car. We'll work that out. We're not really in no big hurry. He's got a bright future, so ...  I don't really know what our plans are for finding him opportunities past the level of the Nationwide Series. I can't really say much about it."

Keselowski is currently sixth in the Nationwide standings.

That is why no one can understand why Rick wanted Mark to sign that multi year contract last month. Basically pushing Mark to sign it knowing the 4 car cap next year. Brad is suppose to drive for HMS next year in the Cup series and that means someone is the odd man out. Now, Rick might make JRM a satellite team but if Dale says he hasn't been included in any talks and he seems that Rick is not letting him in on anything that is not good. I cant see Brad not going to Cup because HMS has some sponsorship in place for him. What ever the case he had Brad under JRM and because of the economy they merged his Nationwide team under HMS and that put Brad under HMS.

Howard, what are the odds of Rick making the same deal with James Finch that he has with Tony? Brad could drive the 09 and still be under the Hendrick umbrella. I don't see him getting rid of Jeff, Jimmie, or Jr.Of course he could have something else in the works with one of them and no one is talking yet.

Lets not forget that Stewart-Haas is a satellite operation of HMS too. Currently he is running 2 cars out of that stable. There is plenty of room for Brad, Mark and Jr. It is possible that Brad could drive for Tony Stewart if his move to cup gets accelerated. We'll just have to wait and see.

Also let's not forget that Truex Jr. should be a free agent and I'm sure Bass Pro Shops will be coming with him.Doesn't Tony and B.P.S. have a deal/friendship?Hmmmm!I've also heard that Gordon might be done full time after 2010.

Mark Martin is 5 times better than Brad right now. Brad will be a good driver and I like him but it will take a few years. Hendrick is a smart man, has quite a few millions more than most and knows what he's doing. Brad could drive for Dale Jr's cup team if needed. Jr. stated he would like to move his Nationwide team to cup so there you go.

Here's what I'd like to see. Don't let Cup regulars compete for the Nationwide Championship, unless they are a rookie. Then Brad could win the Nationwide Championship. And maybe rookie of the year also, like Kevin Harvick did in 2001. ANY Cup regular allowed to race for the Nationwide Championship will always win it. They are, after all, major league players playing in the minor leagues. It would be great to get back to winning the Championship and then moving up to Cup.

Brad ain't going to spend another year in the Nationwide Series, this is his third year there. He has been there too long already. He needs to get into Cup next year and he wont be picked up by SHR. That position is for Truex. JGR is looking for a 4 driver and Brad is a free agent. I don't see Jeff retiring either. He is just as comfortable now than he ever was.

there is sure a lot of talk about a kid who, while he did win the race, they kept talking constantly throughout the race that he could hardly get out of his own way the whole time. I don't see why winning at a plate track would accelerate someones career outside of getting some press, because it really just means they were the lucky one that day - it could have easily been some other joe shmoe that won that same race.

Hey Chris, Really! Well lets see, in 2008 he would have been the Nationwide champion if it wasn't for the Cup Drivers who took 1st and 2nd. And this year he would be leading the Nationwide series if it wasn't for the Cup drivers. So I say he is a pretty good driver for the cup Series.

I remember last year when he made a comment about a possibility of moving his team to cup and then regretted saying anything. Maybe he has learned it is better to keep mum!
Congrats Brad on your win! What a victory for a part time Sprint Cup driver. You showed those Cup guys you aren't moving over for anyone.

I think he'll be in cup next year in a JR Motorsports car, which will in reality be a Hendrick team with a different bank account and owner name. Along with Stewart/Haas already under Hendrick's wing going to a 3rd team and possibly a 4th team in the coming years, a quarter of the starting field will be Hendrick equipment in 5 years.

Howard, Brad is behind Jason Leffler in the points, so no, he wouldn't be leading if there were no Cup drivers. As for where he will be next year, I think he might be in the #09 full time in Cup. Hendrick wants Mark to stay, and even if Mark decided to do the part-time schedule, that would only leave Brad about 10 races in the #5. He will likely be in a #09 Chevy with Finch, because SHR isn't going to expand to 3-4 cars when they don't have full sponsorship for the 2 cars they run now. Unless Stewart can find enough sponsorship for Newman for all the races, I don't think expansion to a 3 or 4 car team is what they are going to be looking at. Plus, rumors abound say that if Truex did leave EGR, Bass Pro Shops would take up the remaining races on the #39 to save money, instead of running as a full-time primary sponsor. If this were to come true, and Truex was to sign with SHR, they'd have a 3rd team with no sponsorship that they would have to fill up. While I do agree with Joshua's statement that 1/4 of the starting field will be Hendrick powered within a few years, that is almost the case now really and especially when the #25 is run. But as long as Hendrick runs well year after year, he'll get teams trying to use his equipment.

Andrew, I don't know why you think that of Jason, because most of us think he is a Cup driver. He has over 60 starts in the Cup series so he is just like another Cup driver to us. SHR can get more sponsorship, Armor All wants to be a primary sponsor and Bass Pro Shops will also be on one of there cars next year. Brad will never be over there. Truex is the best candidate to fill a vacant seat there.

Guys I thought its possible for Truex to go to SHR. But I don't think Brad would consider JRG. Because he is a Chevy man. Can't see him switching to Toys. I do see him staying with JRM and Henderick making a Sprint team there but as Dale said he is in the business of drivers in Nationwide and helping them improve their driving. Brad did that. I think that after Dega Mark Martin might consider retirement again he does not like restritor plate tracks and that wreck I'm sure didn't sit well with him. If he doesn't make the chase I think he might want semi-retirement than he could take Brad's spot in the 09 that would be great.

This is exactly why they should change the format to get into the chase. The chase should be anyone who wins a race in the first 26 races and then if you don't have 12 winners get to 12 based on points. Brad has more wins than 7 of the drivers in the chase and I'm sure there will be 1 or 2 drivers in the chase without a win at the end of the season. Racing is about winning not riding around for a good points finish. Let's put the winners in the chase and in turn more excitement at the track.

I agree .. Joshua and Ken. Mark needs to step down. Brad is ready and I believe the plan was for him to take the 5 when Martin retires again... Part time in the 09 sounds good for Martin. Nationwide champions should only be for those in Nationwide and not in cup. The cup guys steal the wins and the top 10 each race. Winning the title in Nwide series by a cup driver, well they should not be so proud. Brad and many others deserve to suceed.
The new alliance method of Hendrick and other owners shouldn't be. First they could only own 2 cars, so the put the other cars under another name. Now they support new teams under different owners. NASCAR should be able to see this. I really do not want to watch the Hendrick vs Roush cup series.
