MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Roush Fenway Racing crew chief Drew Blickensderfer said after winning the Kroger On Track For The Cure 250 Nationwide Series race that he will remain with the No. 60 team and Carl Edwards in 2009.
Blickensderfer moved from Roush Fenway’s No. 17 team to Edwards’ team for the race at The Milwaukee Mile on June and proceeded to win at Milwaukee and five of the 15 races he has served as Edwards’ crew chief.
"I'm going to be back with Carl next year,” Blickensderfer said at Memphis Motorsports Park. “We talked about it this week, actually, Carl and I did. The 60 car is a premier job. You would be crazy to want to go somewhere to change this. And I don't. I love working with Carl. I love working with the 60 guys. Running every single week is fun as a racer. And getting to do it with him is pretty special."
Edwards will again run the full Nationwide Series schedule next season, as well as the full Sprint Cup season.
And, for now, Blickensderfer will remain with Edwards.
"Well, [owner] Jack [Roush] will steal him sometime, if he keeps doing this good," Edwards said with a smile.
