Brad Coleman's No. 27 Baker Curb Racing Ford will carry logos for the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation for this weekend's Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Watkins Glen International.
The associate sponsorship is set to announce Chris Paradysz’s “Life without Lupus Ride for the Cure” where Paradysz will ride his bike to Daytona. The trek will start in New York City Nov. 20 and is intended to raise awareness and money for Lupus research and a cure. Paradysz is a board member of the foundation and parent of a teenage daughter affected by the disease.
“The S.L.E. Lupus Foundation and all our members are extremely excited to be partnering with a young and talented driver like Brad Coleman in this race at Watkins Glen,” Paradysz said. “We are even more excited about the opportunity to raise the awareness of Lupus, one of America’s least recognized diseases. We see this as our chance to inform millions of caring NASCAR fans that over 1.5 million Americans have this mysterious and often devastating autoimmune disease, and it is up to all of us to help find a cure.”
Coleman said that he appreciates the type of trek that Paradysz is undertaking and that he is glad to be able to offer some support for it.
“I want to thank the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation for allowing me to represent them this weekend in Watkins Glen and also to let Mr. Paradysz know that he can come train with me any time he wants from now until Daytona,” said Coleman. “I am not a Carl Edwards just yet, but I do go to the gym every chance I get and would love for him to work out with me. We can prepare for our passions together. I know this is such a difficult disease to manage and to help raise awareness at the Watkins Glen event and, for the Lupus community all along the route Chris is riding, will certainly bring great interest and also help to raise funds. It means the world to me.”
