With Dario Franchitti moving to Chip Ganassi Racing’s Indy Racing League team, Bryan Clauson will take over the team’s Nationwide Series Dodge for the most of the remainder of the season.
Beginning with this weekend’s race at Richmond International Raceway, Clauson will drive the No. 40 entry in seven of the remaining eight events on the schedule, team officials confirmed.
The lone race Clauson will miss will be at Texas Motor Speedway, where Sprint Cup driver Juan Pablo Montoya will be in the car.
Clauson has driven in 15 Nationwide races this season, 14 for Ganassi. He has two top-10 finishes, including a career-best fifth at Kentucky in June.
He is third in the standings for the Raybestos Rookie of the Year, two points behind leader Landon Cassill and one behind Franchitti.
