Brian Vickers to make his 100th Nationwide start at New Hampshire
Brian Vickers will reach a milestone this weekend, making his 100th NASCAR Nationwide Series start in Saturday’s Camping World RV Sales 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Vickers, who is driving the No. 32 Braun Racing entry he shares this season, made his debut in what was then known as the Busch Series on July 1, 2001, at the Milwaukee Mile. He was only 17 at the time and drove a car owned by his father, Clyde, to a 37th-place finish.
He went on to win the series championship in 2003.
"It’s hard to believe that it has been eight years almost to the day that I started driving in NASCAR," said Vickers, who drives full time for Red Bull Racing in the Sprint Cup Series. "I have been very fortunate to have been surrounded by great family and friends who have supported me in my career. A win here this weekend would be the perfect way to celebrate.”
