Brendan Gaughan returns to Rusty Wallace Racing for 2010
Brendan Gaughan, who finished ninth in the Nationwide Series standings for Rusty Wallace Racing last season, will return to the organization in 2010, the team announced Saturday.
Gaughan will bring a partial-season sponsorship from his family’s South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas to the team. He will be a teammate again to Steve Wallace, Rusty’s son. The organization is making the switch from Chevrolet to Toyota and will have an alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing.
“[Gaughan] did a great job last year … and came really close to winning a couple of races,” team owner Rusty Wallace said in a statement. “I feel like we’ve upgraded our program greatly over last season, so hopefully we’ll be able to give him that extra push to get him into victory lane this time around.”
The team also announced that Scott McDougall has been hired as crew chief for Steve Wallace. McDougall, who worked at CJM Racing last year, replaces Trip Bruce.
