Colin Braun is preparing to make his second career Nationwide Series start this weekend.

The 19-year-old will drive the Roush Fenway Racing No. 16 at Nashville Superspeedway. He debuted in the series last season at Memphis Motorsports Park.

“It’s going to be quite a lot of fun for me,” Braun said. “I’ve never raced on a concrete race track before, so I’m excited about getting a chance to do that and I’m definitely excited about getting the chance to drive in the Nationwide Series, it’ll be a blast.”

Braun is planning to drive in two Nationwide races this season, the upcoming Pepsi 300 and again in Mexico City in April.

He’s a regular for the team in the Craftsman Truck Series, where he drives the No. 6 entry full time.

“Colin is a talented young driver,” said his Nationwide Series crew chief, Eddie Pardue. “He’s proven he can run well on road courses. This will be his first time on a concrete track and only his second time in a Nationwide Series car. I’m sure it’ll take a little adjusting but he’s a smart kid and I think he’ll do well.

"He’s done a good job in the truck series this year. From what I’ve seen and heard he understands the mechanics and he gives good feedback, so as a crew chief that’s a good combination to have in your driver.”

In the three truck races this season, Braun has three top-10 starts and one top-10 finish.
