Braun Racing officials announced Monday night that Brian Scott will join the NASCAR Nationwide Series organization as it expands to four Toyotas for 2010.
Team owner Todd Braun currently fields three cars in the Nationwide Series, the No. 38 for Jason Leffler and the No. 10 and 32 entries for multiple drivers.
Next season, Leffler and Sprint Cup driver Kasey Kahne will split the No. 38, with Leffler also driving the No. 10 part time. Drivers for the No. 32 and No. 10 for when Leffler isn’t driving have yet to be named.
“Expanding into a four car team is not something I ever fathomed, but I have a great group of hard-working, dedicated people behind me that have helped to make it happen,” Braun said in a news release. “We also have the support of our outstanding marketing partners and without them, we wouldn’t be here. To say that I am proud of what we have all built together is an understatement.
“We welcome Brian Scott to the team and we’re looking forward to a very successful year in 2010.”
Scott has driven for the Xpress Motorsports Camping World Truck Series team the past two seasons, and he scored his first Truck win this year.
He also made his debut in the Nationwide Series, competing in five races for Braun and two for CJM Racing.
“I am really excited to have the opportunity to join forces with Braun Racing next season,” Scott said. “We had some great runs this year, which I think is a solid building block for what we want to accomplish in 2010. Braun Racing is an outstanding organization, with first-rate equipment and an extremely talented crew and staff.
“As a driver entering his first season of full-time competition in the Nationwide Series, you can’t ask to be in a better situation. Daytona can’t get here fast enough for me”
Braun officials said Scott’s sponsor, car number as well as crew chief and other personnel will be announced in the coming weeks.

Nov 9, 2009 at 10:11 PMGood for Scott. Kid has potential and I think he deserves a full-time ride. Now, as for the 32, there are many candidates. I'd bet on a mix between Vickers and Sorenson, though.

Nov 9, 2009 at 10:24 PM#1, supposedly Sorenson's as good as in that car, and will race the #10 when Vickers races the 32 so that he can run for the championship.
Glad to see Brian Scott getting a chance. Rumor has it Kyle Busch is buying his Truck team to prepare for next year. That'll be interesting.

Nov 11, 2009 at 7:52 AMWait to announce the sponsor? Like its not going to be his family company, Alberson's and whomever they can strong-arm into the deal?

Nov 12, 2009 at 3:25 AM#6: It would make sense for Albertson's to be his sponsor. Brian Scott's from Boise, where the store chain was founded. Can't blame them for supporting their hometown driver.
