D.J. Kennington drives the MacDonald Motorsports entry earlier this season.

MacDonald Motorsports officials say that Brad Baker will drive the team’s NASCAR Nationwide Series entry this weekend at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Baker will fill in for D.J. Kennington in the Carquest Auto Parts 300.

"It's real tough to step out for these few races in the Nationwide Series,” Kennington said. "I have made the commitment to [sponsor] Castrol and my race team that we will race the full season in the Canadian Tire Series and try to claim the championship. We have been so close so many years, and the knowledge I have learned in the Nationwide Series has made me a better racer."

Kennington and Castrol's relationship dates back 14 years, when the St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, native made his debut in the series at the age of 16.

"There’s not many drivers that can claim they have had this type of relationship, and it's been an honor to work with Castrol for all these
year,” Kennington said.

Baker drove the car to a 30th-place finish in 2006. Kennington will return to the No. 81 Dodge June 7 at Nashville.
