Baker Curb Racing officials announced Monday that veteran Nationwide Series driver Jason Keller will take over the team’s No. 27 Ford for the rest of the 2008 season, as well as for 2009.

Baker Curb started the season with Brad Coleman as the full-time driver, but he left to concentrate on Sprint Cup opportunities.

Keller leaves CJM Racing after nearly two years of driving for the team. A CJM spokesperson said the team has signed a new driver and likely would make the announcement Tuesday.

"I am very thankfull that [team owners] Gary Baker and Mike Curb have given me this opportunity," Keller said.  "It is also a wonderful opportunity to represent such a first-class company like Kimberly-Clark and their family of brands.  Baker Curb Racing has some great guys working on their cars, and I am excited about working with them in 2008 as we build the program for a strong 2009 season."

Keller is a 17-year veteran of the series and is the all-time start leader, with 450 races. He has 10 victories and 11 poles in his career.

“I was in attendance at O’Reilly Raceway Park when Jason notched his first victory in the Nationwide Series,” Curb said.  “Watching his consistency through the years, Jason brings a combination of talent and experience that takes our team to the next level.”

Keller’s first start in the No. 27 Ford will be this weekend’s race at Dover International Speedway.

“What Jason brings to the Baker Curb team is a veteran with success,” Baker said.  “He has a solid reputation and is respected on and off the track.  He is one of the most successful drivers in the Nationwide Series, and having him behind the wheel of the No. 27 Kleenex Ford Fusion will help strengthen our team and push us in the development of our cars and technology.”

Wow,good for Baker/Curb.This is kind of a head scratcher for me though as Jason was in better equipment in the #11 car than he'll have,at least initially,at B-C. Well in this world it's all about the money and Jason has a family to look after and I wish him well.

I knew he was going to be out of the #11 by the end of the year, but I'm amazed he's moving to Baker Curb. The #11 has been decent all year whereas I often don't know the #27 is in the field... Good luck to him though. He got booted from a ride that was going to have JGR support next year though, would have been nice to see him have that.

Lol.....Thanks Mark!! Going from team to team is just the nature of the business, and mid season moves happen.Look at Bliss going from the 22 to the 1.It all revolves around funding, some teams have more of it than others, and long term Kimberly Clark propably offers more stability as a sponsor than Incredible pizza.

Keller was being replaced in the CMJ ride at the end of the season. He is a very good driver and this team will improve with him as a driver.
