Baker Curb Racing joins cancer awareness fight
Jason Keller's No. 27 NASCAR Nationwide Series entry will carry a special paint scheme this weekend as part of a project to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
Keller's car will carry the slogan, “Driven to End Prostate Cancer,” during the Camping World RV Sales 200 at Dover International Speedway. That is part of an ongoing project between Kimberly-Clark, through its Depend brand, Rite Aid Pharmacy and ZERO - the project to end prostate cancer - to encourage NASCAR fans to pay attention to prostate health.
Under the program titled, “Do it for those who count on you,” the Depend brand will promote health awareness among male fans and their families.
“Men’s health issues not only affect men. They have a significant impact on everyone around them,” said Pete Sawin, marketing director for Kimberly-Clark.
The Drive Against Prostate Cancer mobile unit will offer free screenings at Dover on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The screening consists of a simple blood test and does not require an appointment or health insurance. The test takes less than 10 minutes for a doctor to complete. Physical exams will be available if requested. The mobile unit, which features a flat-screen TV with satellite programming, Internet access and snacks, will be open Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Male race fans who participate will receive a free T-shirt and can enter for a chance to win a VIP race package to the May 2009 Dover race weekend from ZERO.
